Thank you; I add you to my weekly reading list as of today. If the poor...Of course the proof is in the pudding. If the poor in flyover territory expect good factory jobs llost to 3rd world, secure borders, end of foreign wars, cheap medical bills, etc. then they may get one or two of these. The ideology of the postwar era was peace and prosperity in an internationalist architecture. This was largely acheived for the allies and germany, japan, korea. The Vietnam war caused debt based spending which broke the back of the dollar based on gold agrreed upon at war's end. Nixon or rather kissinger engineered the petrodollar and played the china card. Reagan revolution was further taken as neoliberal policy based on debt expansion to conquer communism. It won. They got outspent and folded. However the ideology was a fallacy. Fiat currency and keynesianism whether for debt based wars or social spending leads to ruin. Everything since then is based on expansion of debt by use of petrodollar reserve currency as financial instrument for newly converted 3rd worlders and Eastern Europeans. Once they got on their feet and self confident they realized they were being gamed paying someone else's military world system and financial architecture plus welfare state. They have started turning the tables by resisting, making own military allliance, financial architecture. Japan,Western Europe, USA are drowning in debt at zero interest rates so keynsianism as solution to capitalist cyclicality has failed. Permanent growth is impossible. Debt expansion by said petrodollar reserve currency under military hegemony to maintain debt pump has reached end of physical and political limits. Too much imported throw away junk, planned short term product lifecycles, planned permanent states of war somewhere(as in orwell's 1984). Even more obvious is that exporting this American dream abroad has
had devastating effect in general. Population explosion, middle class debt consumerism is result of a promise of perpetual linear growth. So ecosystems in china, india, etc at breaking point and coal based growth destroying planet in toto.

If his cabinet recognizes that a military and/or social welfare state based on fiat currency, permanent growth is impossible then their success is more likely as it will be self sustaining. If the world sees this as a successful role model then perhaps competitive trade wars and physical wars can be avoided and the planet saved.

Most Americans live from transfer payments. The military and financial complex are also alimented by this system. Printing presses are not real once resource controls run out. I do not think russia will leave their alliance with china and co. for a short term political maneuver in America. With patience America will realize what cooperative multipolarism in financial and military sphere means. Internally this will end up in bankruptcy no doubt. Trump will undoubtedly break public unions, social welfare state and cold war. The elite will trigger the long awaited crash to shove depression in hoover II's shoes. If then dollar system collapses along with nato then reboot could be acheived. America would be a regional power like Russia, China, India with a new currency, no national, state or personal debts. Break with the past, keynes, globalism and go back to roots of founders.Energyflowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14476915209268786507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8746692.post-55979648728460675122016-12-23T21:30:17.131-05:002016-12-23T21:30:17.131-05:00Professor

I agree with it.

I have argued, on my blog, that Trump is so aggressive in now brazenly repudiating his large, angry, rightist populist base, that he is committing what I have termed the ' Kennedy Fallacy ', that is, breaking campaign promises, many of which got him elected. Carrier is just one example. If he now goes after some of these constituencies, merely for justifiably objecting, as JFK did using RFK against the mob, who knows what the outcome might be? I know what happened with the Kennedys.

It looks like a right wing Kennedy Fallacy to me.

All the best Bozonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18078858723231122013noreply@blogger.com
